This season, Charlotte concludes her time at The Glenn Gould School with role debuts as La Ciesca in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi and Jill in the staged première of Dean Burry’s Baby Kintyre. On the concert stage, she performs Messiaen’s Poèmes pour Mí with pianist Rachael Kerr, Crumb’s Madrigals Book III with harpist Suraya Gade and percussionist Andrew Busch, and Ana Sokolovic’s Dring Dring for vocal ensemble alongside colleagues from The Glenn Gould School.

Last season, Charlotte made role debuts as Second Lady in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte and Maman/Le Chauve-Souris in Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges (GGS). She sang in the Canadian première of Philippe Leroux’s Quid sit musicus for 7 voices, instruments and electronics (The Noise Academy), and presented her first Artist Diploma recital with pianist Rachael Kerr, including Lieberson’s Neruda Songs and an exploration of longing through the juxtaposition of Schubert’s Winterreise and songs by Cecilia Livingston.
The 2023-24 season saw Charlotte make her role debut as Sœur Mathilde in Poulenc’s Les dialogues des Carmélites (GGS). She also sang a trio of solo recitals at The Glenn Gould School, The Arts & Letters Club in Toronto, and Pyatt Hall in Vancouver, programming Crumb’s Apparition for voice and amplified piano, Barber’s Hermit Songs, Debussy’s Cinq poèmes de Baudelaire, and Bolcom’s Cabaret Songs, Volume IV. Previous highlights include Tina in Dove’s Flight (NUOVA Vocal Arts), Clorinde in the Canadian première of Offenbach’s La jolie parfumeuse (Halifax Summer Opera Festival), and What the Fach: Female Tropes in Classical Music with soprano Ella Farlinger – a recital-play hybrid challenging perspectives on traditional opera divas.
Charlotte is in her final year of the Artist Diploma program at The Glenn Gould School of The Royal Conservatory in Toronto, where she also earned her Bachelor of Music (Honours) in Voice. She studies with Canadian soprano Stephanie Bogle and vocal coach Rachael Kerr, and regularly works with Xin Wang, John Greer, and Bryce McClendon. Originally from Vancouver, BC, Charlotte previously studied at The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra School of Music with soprano Diane King and pianist Jillian LeBeck.
Alongside her classical endeavours, Charlotte is a trained jazz pianist, vocalist, and composer. Her debut EP, If You Were the Sun, was released in 2020, and her improvisational skills at the piano earned her the “Outstanding Soloist” award at the 2019 Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival. When not onstage, Charlotte is passionate about teaching music theory, experimenting in the kitchen, and watching F1.
